During your first flying lesson (also known as a Discovery Flight), you will walk through a hands-on preflight inspection with an FAA-certified flight instructor, sit in the pilot seat, and take control of the aircraft in flight.

Yes! Once you reach a safe altitude, your flight instructor will hand over the controls and guide you through straight-and-level flight, gentle turns, climbs, and descents. You will experience the sensation of piloting an actual aircraft firsthand.

Yes. All flight time logged with your FAA-certified flight instructor counts toward the total flight hour requirements for your Private Pilot Certificate. We will present you with an official pilot logbook entry after your flight.

In our four-seat Cessna 172 aircraft, subject to weight and balance limitations and instructor approval, a friend or family member may join you in the rear seat to observe and capture photos of your first aviation adventure.

Wear comfortable, casual clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes (such as sneakers) that allow for easy rudder pedal control. Sunglasses are highly recommended, along with a valid government photo ID and your camera to capture memorable moments.
